I bought a car!

I bought a car. What a strange experience. You give them a whole lot of money, and sign some very scary-looking paperwork, then they let you drive off with a vehicle.

I got a new Honda Civic (LX). It seems like a good car, with good safety features. Hopefully I'll enjoy it.

I also tried to look at the Mazda 3, but both the local Mazda dealerships I tried were very unhelpful and gave me a bad feeling, so I gave up on them.

Thanks to everyone who gave advice on my previous post about this. I really appreciate it.

Fortunately, I'm renting a space in a garage two blocks from the house -- it makes the parking issue *much* easier (not to mention the "snow and ice" issue.)

Parking if I'm driving into Manhattan is exciting, though, or at least expensive. I'm not planning to drive into the city until the transit strike is over.

We only ever seem to see you when we come to visit and then all the rest of the time you are an ocassional commentator when I telephone M.

If you have the time, I'd like to know how your life is from your prespective. And I am hardly one to spread the gospal of LJ as I joined after many years and only update rarely, but still more often than you :)
